system of solving things, ever since I realised I was doing it wrong when running 20/20 wand and 20/20 focus instead of 40/20 & 20% ench staff when it comes to Prot (and that is what I allways play, anyway) I worked my ass off and menaged to buy Tormented for prot. So I hope you people are happy now! >:

I tried getting Platinum Staff req prot but it's impossible, so I just gave up and rage-buyed Torm.

@ballinshiznick - As far as I know there is no such staff (with those stats) at collectors but of course you could just craft inscriptable prot staff at weaponsmith and upgrade it. Won't cost you more then 10-15K.

asuran, norn, avicara, undead, mursaat staves should be the same.. i think..

Yes you can, just add Adept and Ench mods.

you can get a generic protection staff that is already a 20fc/20rc from a few different weapons crafters or collectors. Then you have to modify the staff with a adept (20% fc) staff head and a 20% enchanting staff wrapping.

Actually, I would argue that if you play SoD, you will want to keep that 40/40 prot set around for some of your casts. Sometimes it's better to have more SoD than one SoD that lasts longer.

Also, in regards to the collector prot staff, even though they are 20/20 prot, they use the Divine Favor attribute, so Adept Staff Heads will not give you the desired effect (otherwise that Lotus Staff looks pretty good). However, if you have the BMP and insist on running a PvE Monk, you can always go with a Mursaat/Undead/Tengu/Charr Protection Staff. I know that saved me from having to craft one.

+30 weapon with +30/+10 shield (usually slashing damage - carry everything of course depending on what you playing against)

+5 energy +30 weapon with +15/-1 regen +30 offhand (used in extreme cases)

40%casting enchat staff (cancel until u get a fast cast or u know no1 is watching you while aegis)

40/40 set

30% recharge 20% enchant set
